I am the kind of person who needs daily reminders to do things, otherwise I forget. That's part of the reason I'm a list writer. But writing lists isn't helpful for everything. I often get so caught up in my pride and selfishness that I forget about the bigger picture and forget what, or more importantly who, I live my life for- God.
In the last 12-18 months I have created a couple of artworks that serve as daily reminders and help me to humble myself when my pride gets carried away.
Firstly I needed a reminder that I have everything I need and more, and that I am always taken care of. I also needed this reminder in a prominent place. So I designed this artwork for our open plan kitchen and play area where I spend a fair amount of my time.

The second artwork was inspired by my Nanna. I had to do an interview for one of my uni subjects early last year, I can't remember what it was for or why I picked Nanna and I'll blame my 'I-was-5-months-pregnant' baby brain for that. What I do remember though was during the interview, she mentioned her favorite bible passage was Psalm 139. So I looked it up and I read it, and I read it again and again and I fell in love with it as she did. I knew I had to do something with this passage but I had no idea what. I had no intention of using the whole psalm but I couldn't decide which section to pick so... I used it all. And it looks like this.
The last image I created for a friend for her birthday. I had this planned for a while, one of her nicknames is Phoenix so I know I had to do something with that and when I found out her favorite Bible verse it all came together.
